Rosneath Peninsula Highland Gathering
Solo Piping Rules:
- Chanter events begin at 9.30am and piping at 10am, unless otherwise advised at time of registration.
- All competitors must register with the solo piping convener on arrival and will be issued with a competition number.
- No competitor will be allowed to compete without having first been registered and issued with a competition number.
- All entries must be received by the solo piping convener by the closing date. No entries will be taken on the field on the day of the competition.
- All competitors must wear Highland Dress.
- All competitors, when waiting to compete, must be available at the allocated tuning area in order that the stewards may locate them as required.
- Any competitor who wishes to withdraw from a competition, for whatever reason, must inform the solo piping convener before leaving the field.
- Any competitor whose competitions clash should advise the solo piping convener who will notify the judge of the alternative arrangements.
- Any competitor who fails to make themselves available at their appointed slot in any competition will forfeit the right to compete in that competition.
- Competitors in the chanter competitions will not be allowed to play in any piping competitions.
- Competitors in the piping competitions will not be allowed to play in the chanter competitions.
- Confined chanter and confined novice piping competitions will be for members of the Rosneath Peninsula Pipe Band only.
- Local chanter and local piping competitions will be for those resident in Argyll & Bute or West Dunbartonshire only.
- All competitors who are l8 years and under must provide their date of birth, proof of which may be asked for on the day of the competition.
- All adult competitors will be required to submit 3 tunes to the judge on the day of the competition, one of which will be chosen by the judge.
- Competitors must observe the Officials Only signs at the Registration Marquee.
- In all questions of dispute, prior to competing the Solo Piping Convener's decision will be final.
- In all questions of dispute relating to the competition, the decision of the Judge will be final.
- The organisers accept no responsibility for any loss, injury or damage, which the performer or public might sustain while attending the Rosneath Solo Piping Competition.
